Description

These Ultimate Cheeseburger Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or meal perfect for gatherings or a casual dinner. Juicy ground beef is seasoned and cooked to perfection, layered with cheddar cheese, tangy pickles, red onions, and a flavorful spread on soft slider buns. Topped with a buttery sesame garlic glaze and baked until golden, these sliders deliver the classic cheeseburger taste in convenient bite-sized portions.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For the Sliders:

  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or soft dinner rolls)
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese, halved
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • ½ small red onion, finely chopped
  • 6–8 dill pickle slices, chopped

For the Topping:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef along with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking up the beef with a spatula as it browns evenly. Once cooked through, drain any excess fat to keep the sliders moist but not greasy.
  2. Prepare the Buns: Slice the slider buns horizontally, keeping each half intact. Arrange the bottom halves neatly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, forming a base layer for the sliders.
  3. Assemble the Sliders: Spread the mayonnaise evenly over the bottom halves of the buns. Then layer the cooked beef evenly over the mayo, followed by cheddar cheese halves, finely chopped red onion, and chopped dill pickles. Spread yellow mustard and ketchup on the inside of the top bun halves and place them on top of the assembled sliders.
  4. Add the Topping: In a small bowl, combine melted butter with garlic powder, sesame seeds, and dried parsley. Brush this flavorful mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns to add a savory glaze and appealing golden color.
  5. Bake: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for another 5 minutes or until the tops of the buns turn golden brown and the cheese melts.
  6. Serve: Allow the sliders to cool slightly after baking for easier handling. Slice between each bun if needed and serve warm for the ultimate cheeseburger slider experience.

Notes

  • Use Hawaiian rolls for a slightly sweet and soft texture that complements the savory beef.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite burger condiments or add lettuce and tomato if desired.
  • To make ahead, assemble the sliders but wait to bake until ready to serve; store covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
  • For a spicier kick, add some sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef or toppings.
  • Make sure to drain excess fat from the cooked beef to avoid greasy sliders.
