Description

This Tuna Melt Wrap is a quick and delicious meal combining a flavorful tuna salad mixture with melted cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla and grilled to golden perfection. Perfect for a satisfying lunch or light dinner, this wrap balances creamy, tangy, and savory flavors with a crisp skillet-toasted exterior.

Ingredients

Scale

Tuna Salad Mixture

  • 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wrap and Cooking

  • 1 large flour tortilla
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat Skillet: Place a skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm up, preparing for toasting the wrap.
  2. Mix Tuna Salad: In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, chopped red onion, chopped celery, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
  3. Prepare Tortilla: Lay the large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface, ready for assembly.
  4. Assemble Wrap: Evenly spread the tuna mixture onto the tortilla, leaving about an inch of space around the edges to allow for folding.
  5. Fold and Roll: Fold the sides of the tortilla towards the center, then tightly roll it up from the bottom to form a secure wrap.
  6. Melt Butter: Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the preheated skillet and let it melt completely, coating the surface.
  7. Place Wrap in Skillet: Carefully place the tortilla wrap seam side down into the skillet to prevent unrolling during cooking.
  8. Toast Wrap: Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese inside has melted.
  9. Cool Slightly: Remove the wrap from the skillet and allow it to cool for a few minutes to let the filling settle.
  10. Slice and Serve: Cut the wrap in half diagonally and serve while warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh shredded cheese for better melting texture.
  • You can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • Adding a few spinach leaves or sliced tomato inside the wrap can add freshness.
  • If you prefer a spicier wrap, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the tuna mixture.
  • This recipe can be adapted to gluten-free tortillas if needed.
