Ingredients
Scale
Sweet Potato Dog Cookies:
- 1 cup cooked and mashed sweet potato
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened and xylitol-free)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup water (as needed)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potato, peanut butter, and eggs. Stir until well mixed. Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until it holds together.
- Roll and cut: Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes or until firm and lightly browned.
- Cool and serve: Let cool completely before serving to your dog.
Notes
- Always check that your peanut butter contains no xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.
