Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced small
- 1 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt (or non-dairy yogurt for vegan)
- 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Optional Toppings
- Crushed nuts
- Mini chocolate chips
- Shredded coconut
- Chia seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: Wash, dry, remove stems, and finely dice the fresh strawberries to create small pieces that blend well in the yogurt mixture.
- Mix the Yogurt Base: In a bowl, thoroughly stir together the Greek yogurt, maple syrup or honey if using, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Combine Strawberries and Yogurt: Gently fold the diced strawberries into the yogurt mixture to evenly distribute them. For a smoother consistency, you can also blend the mixture slightly if desired.
- Portion into Molds: Spoon the strawberry yogurt mixture into mini molds or drop roughly one tablespoon per bite onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, shaping each bite-sized portion.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle your choice of optional toppings such as crushed nuts, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or chia seeds on top of each yogurt bite before freezing.
- Freeze the Bites: Place the molds or baking sheet in the freezer and freeze for 2 to 3 hours or until the yogurt bites are solid and firm.
- Store and Serve: Once frozen, transfer the strawberry frozen yogurt bites into an airtight container. Store them in the freezer for up to one month, ready to enjoy as a cool, healthy snack anytime.
Notes
- For a vegan version, use non-dairy yogurt and maple syrup instead of honey.
- Blending the mixture after folding in strawberries gives a smoother texture; skipping this step leaves a chunkier bite with fresh strawberry pieces.
- Customize the toppings to your preference or omit entirely for a simpler bite.
- Use silicone molds for easy removal of frozen bites.
- If you do not have mini molds, drop by tablespoonfuls on parchment paper and freeze.
- Consume within one month for optimal freshness and flavor.
