- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla extract, and milk; beat until well combined.
- Combine: Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Form cookies: Scoop dough into 1 1/2-inch balls, roll in granulated sugar, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake: Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are set but centers are still soft. Do not overbake.
- Cool: Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add almond extract or colored sugar before baking.
