Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 Earl Grey tea bag (leaves removed from bag)
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Wet Ingredients:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
For Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons brewed Earl Grey tea
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: Cream butter and sugars, add eggs, milk, and extracts. Blend in dry ingredients to form batter.
- Bake: Drop spoonfuls of batter on the sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until golden. Cool on a rack.
- Make Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar with tea to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle over cakes once cooled.
