Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 3 â…“ cups Bisquick baking mix
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
Toppings and Sauce
- 1 (14-15 ounce) jar pizza sauce
- 6 ounces sliced pepperoni
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Make dough: In a medium bowl, combine the Bisquick baking mix, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Add water and stir until a soft dough forms. Adjust the consistency by adding more Bisquick if too sticky or more water if too dry.
- Layer the casserole: Divide the dough in half and drop spoonfuls onto the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a base. Drizzle half of the pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Layer half of the sliced pepperoni and then half of the shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat these layers with the remaining dough, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and cheese.
- Bake the casserole: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the crust turns golden brown.
- Serve: Remove from oven, cut into squares, and serve warm for a comforting meal.
Notes
- You can add additional toppings like sliced olives, bell peppers, or mushrooms for more variety.
- If you prefer a crispier crust, bake a few minutes longer and watch closely to prevent burning.
- Use low-moisture mozzarella for best melting results.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven to maintain texture.
