Description

Mardi Gras Snack Mix is a quick and easy appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings. This colorful, crunchy mix combines Cheezits, Bugles, pretzels, and peanuts, all seasoned with a zesty Ranch dressing mix, then topped with assorted candies for a sweet and salty flavor contrast. Ready in just 15 minutes with no cooking required, it’s ideal for festive snacking.

Ingredients

Scale

Snack Mix Base

  • 2-1/2 cups Cheezits
  • 2-1/2 cups Bugles
  • 2-1/2 cups small pretzels
  • 1 cup peanuts (or any nuts you like or have on hand)

Seasoning and Toppings

  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 packet dry Ranch Salad Dressing and Seasoning Mix
  • 2 cups assorted candies (M&Ms, jelly beans, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a gallon-size plastic bag, add the Cheezits, Bugles, pretzels, and peanuts. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the mixture.
  2. Coat the Mix: Seal the bag securely and gently toss to evenly coat all the pieces with the oil. Then add the packet of dry Ranch Salad Dressing and Seasoning Mix, reseal the bag, and toss gently again until everything is well coated with the seasoning.
  3. Serve and Garnish: When ready to serve, pour the seasoned snack mix into a large bowl. Top with the assorted candies to add a festive, colorful, and sweet crunch to the mix. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.

Notes

  • You can substitute peanuts with any other nuts such as almonds or cashews based on preference or dietary needs.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute gluten-free pretzels and crackers.
  • Mix and match candies according to your color theme or taste preferences.
  • Store the snack mix in an airtight container to keep it fresh for up to one week.
