Description

A creamy and flavorful Lemon Dill Salmon Pasta recipe that combines tender salmon with a luscious dill-infused cream sauce, tossed with perfectly cooked al dente pasta for a quick and elegant meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 4 ounces uncooked pasta

Salmon and Seasoning

  • 1/2 pound fresh salmon
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Flour for dredging

Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (or dry white wine)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

Optional Garnish

  • Fresh parsley
  • Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Boil Pasta: Bring a salted pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente following package instructions. Start the sauce once the water is boiling for efficient timing.
  2. Prepare Salmon: Season the salmon evenly with salt and pepper, then dredge it lightly in flour to help with browning.
  3. Cook Salmon: Heat olive oil and butter together in a skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the salmon and cook for approximately 2 minutes on each side until lightly browned. Remove the salmon from the pan and set aside.
  4. Make Sauce Base: In the same skillet, add chicken broth (or white wine), lemon juice, and minced garlic. Allow to simmer and bubble for about 30 seconds to meld flavors, then reduce heat to medium.
  5. Finish Sauce and Salmon: Stir in the heavy cream and fresh dill. Return the salmon to the pan, breaking it into bite-sized pieces with your spoon. Cook for a few more minutes until the salmon is cooked through and the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Combine Pasta and Serve: Drain the cooked pasta and add it directly to the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy salmon sauce. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Using chicken broth or dry white wine for the sauce base provides flexibility based on preference.
  • Dredging the salmon in flour helps achieve a nice sear and adds subtle thickness to the sauce.
  • Be careful not to overcook the salmon during searing to keep it tender and moist.
  • The sauce thickens as it simmers with the cream; adjust consistency with extra broth or cream as needed.
  • This dish pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables.
