Description

This Italian Margarita is a refreshing twist on the classic cocktail, combining smooth Reposado tequila with the sweet almond flavor of Amaretto, balanced by fresh orange and lime juices. Perfect for a quick and flavorful single-serving drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Reposado tequila
  • 1½ ounces Amaretto
  • 2 ounces fresh orange juice
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Kosher salt, for rimming the glass
  • Lime wedges, for rimming and garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shaker: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice to chill the ingredients properly and ensure your drink is served cold.
  2. Add liquids: Pour in 3 ounces of Reposado tequila, 1½ ounces of Amaretto, 2 ounces of fresh orange juice, and 1 ounce of fresh lime juice into the shaker.
  3. Shake: Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well combined and chilled.
  4. Rim the glass: Take a lime wedge and rub it around the rim of your serving glass. Then, invert the glass onto a plate filled with kosher salt to coat the rim evenly.
  5. Serve: Fill the prepared glass with ice and strain the shaken cocktail mixture into it. Garnish with an additional lime wedge if desired and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Using fresh juices enhances the flavor significantly compared to bottled juices.
  • For a sweeter taste, adjust the amount of Amaretto to your preference.
  • Reposado tequila is preferred for its smoothness and subtle oak flavors, but other tequilas can be used.
  • Ensure the salt rim is even but not too thick to avoid overpowering the drink.
