- 12 oz. Fresh Green Beans, chopped
- 3 medium Carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup Peas, fresh or frozen
- 1 cup Fresh Spinach, chopped

- 3 cups Brown Rice, uncooked
Liquids and Seasonings
- 3 ½ cups Beef Broth
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- ½ teaspoon Ground Sage
- 1 teaspoon Dried Rosemary
- Olive Oil (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: Drizzle olive oil inside the crockpot to prevent the ingredients from sticking during cooking.
- Add Ingredients: Place the ground beef, chopped beef liver, sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, peas, spinach, brown rice, beef broth, turmeric, black pepper, ground sage, and dried rosemary into the crockpot.
- Mix Ingredients: Gently stir all the ingredients together to distribute them evenly throughout the mixture.
- Cook: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Stir the mixture occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent ingredients from settling at the bottom.
- Cool: Once cooking is complete, allow the dog food to cool completely before serving to your pet.
- Portion and Store: If you plan to freeze the dog food, portion out 1 cup servings into Ziplock bags and store them in the freezer for convenient future meals.
- Thaw Before Use: Remove a portion from the freezer the night before serving to allow it to thaw safely and be ready for your dog.
Notes
- Always consult with your veterinarian before switching your dog to a homemade diet.
- Use fresh or frozen peas as preferred; both work well in this recipe.
- Adjust seasoning quantities carefully; herbs like turmeric may provide anti-inflammatory benefits but should be used in dog-safe amounts.
- Ensure the dog food has cooled completely before feeding to prevent any burns or digestive issues.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
