Shichimi Togarashi Spice Blend Ingredients

- 3 tablespoons dried orange peel
- 2 tablespoons dried chili flakes
- 2 teaspoons white sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons black sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Lightly crumble the nori sheet into small pieces to ensure even blending with the other ingredients.
- Blend Spices: Combine the crumbled nori, dried orange peel, chili flakes, white and black sesame seeds, ground ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, and poppy seeds in a spice grinder or blender. Blend for about 30 seconds or until the mixture reaches a sandy, coarse texture but is not a fine powder.
- Store Blend: Transfer the blended spice mix into an airtight jar. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to maintain freshness and potency. Use within 5 months for best flavor.
