Ingredients
Scale
Slider Base
- 1 pack Hawaiian rolls (12-count)
Filling
- 6 breakfast sausage patties
- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)
Butter Glaze
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
Optional Topping
- Maple syrup, for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Rolls: Slice the entire pack of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping all rolls connected as a whole. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish to form the base layer.
- Cook Sausage: Cook the breakfast sausage patties according to their package instructions until fully cooked. Once done, crumble the cooked sausage into small bite-sized pieces.
- Scramble Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture into a skillet over medium heat and scramble the eggs, cooking until fully set but still moist.
- Assemble Layers: Evenly layer the crumbled sausage over the bottom half of the Hawaiian rolls, followed by spreading the scrambled eggs on top. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the eggs.
- Add Top Rolls: Carefully place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the layered fillings to complete the slider assembly.
- Prepare Butter Glaze: In a small bowl, melt the butter and whisk in the Dijon mustard if using. Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the top of the slider assembly.
- Bake Sliders: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.
- Add Optional Drizzle: Remove the sliders from the oven and if desired, drizzle with maple syrup for a delightful sweet and savory flavor contrast.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the sliders warm directly from the baking dish and enjoy your delicious breakfast treat!
Notes
- You can substitute cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese such as mozzarella, pepper jack, or Swiss.
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce to the filling layers.
- Make sure not to overcook the scrambled eggs to keep them moist and fluffy.
- These sliders can be assembled the night before and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
- If you want a crispier top, remove the foil during the last 5 minutes of baking.
