Description

These Ham and Cheese Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or meal option featuring tender Hawaiian sweet rolls layered with savory ham and melty Swiss cheese. Brushed with a flavorful honey-Dijon mustard sauce and tangy poppy seed dressing, then baked to perfection until warm and bubbly, these sliders are perfect for parties, gatherings, or a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (one package)
  • 9 slices ham
  • 9 slices Swiss cheese

Sauces and Dressings

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup poppy seed dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Make Honey-Dijon Sauce: In a small bowl, thoroughly combine the Dijon mustard and honey until smooth and well blended.
  3. Prepare Rolls: Carefully cut the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise. Place the bottom halves side-by-side in a lightly sprayed baking dish, keeping them connected to form a base layer.
  4. Brush Bottom Rolls: Generously brush the honey-Dijon mixture over the exposed surfaces of the bottom half of the rolls.
  5. Layer Ham and Cheese: Place slices of ham evenly over the bottom rolls, then add slices of Swiss cheese on top of the ham.
  6. Brush Top Rolls: Spread more honey-Dijon sauce on the inside of the top halves of the rolls, then carefully place these on top of the layered bottom halves, creating sliders.
  7. Coat with Poppy Seed Dressing: Liberally brush the outside tops of the assembled sliders with the poppy seed dressing to add flavor and help with browning.
  8. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake the sliders for 15 to 18 minutes until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through.
  9. Broil to Finish: Remove the foil and broil the sliders for about 4 minutes or until the tops of the rolls are slightly browned and crisped to perfection. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  10. Serve Hot: Remove from oven and serve the sliders immediately while they are warm and melty.

Notes

  • Keep the rolls connected in the baking dish to ensure even heating and easier slicing after baking.
  • Use foil to cover during baking to trap steam so the cheese melts perfectly without drying out the rolls.
  • Broiling at the end adds a delicious crispy top but watch it closely to prevent burning.
  • These sliders can be customized with different types of cheese or deli meats depending on preference.
  • Serve with extra poppy seed dressing or mustard on the side for dipping.
