Ingredients
Scale
Slider Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (one package)
- 9 slices ham
- 9 slices Swiss cheese
Sauces and Dressings
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup poppy seed dressing
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Make Honey-Dijon Sauce: In a small bowl, thoroughly combine the Dijon mustard and honey until smooth and well blended.
- Prepare Rolls: Carefully cut the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise. Place the bottom halves side-by-side in a lightly sprayed baking dish, keeping them connected to form a base layer.
- Brush Bottom Rolls: Generously brush the honey-Dijon mixture over the exposed surfaces of the bottom half of the rolls.
- Layer Ham and Cheese: Place slices of ham evenly over the bottom rolls, then add slices of Swiss cheese on top of the ham.
- Brush Top Rolls: Spread more honey-Dijon sauce on the inside of the top halves of the rolls, then carefully place these on top of the layered bottom halves, creating sliders.
- Coat with Poppy Seed Dressing: Liberally brush the outside tops of the assembled sliders with the poppy seed dressing to add flavor and help with browning.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake the sliders for 15 to 18 minutes until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through.
- Broil to Finish: Remove the foil and broil the sliders for about 4 minutes or until the tops of the rolls are slightly browned and crisped to perfection. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Serve Hot: Remove from oven and serve the sliders immediately while they are warm and melty.
Notes
- Keep the rolls connected in the baking dish to ensure even heating and easier slicing after baking.
- Use foil to cover during baking to trap steam so the cheese melts perfectly without drying out the rolls.
- Broiling at the end adds a delicious crispy top but watch it closely to prevent burning.
- These sliders can be customized with different types of cheese or deli meats depending on preference.
- Serve with extra poppy seed dressing or mustard on the side for dipping.
