Description

This Fresh Restaurant Style Salsa is a vibrant, flavorful blend of ripe roma tomatoes, garlic, jalapeños, fresh cilantro, lime juice, and onion. Easily made in a food processor, it delivers a balanced combination of spicy, tangy, and savory notes perfect for dipping, topping, or adding a fresh kick to your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables and Herbs

  • 6 roma tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 jalapeños
  • 1/2 cup packed cilantro (or more to taste)
  • 1/2 small onion (1/4 cup diced)

Other Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or up to 1 teaspoon to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Quarter cut the tomatoes. Halve the jalapeños; to adjust the spiciness, leave the seeds and white membranes in for a hotter salsa or scoop them out with a spoon for a milder flavor. Roughly dice the onion to ensure it blends well.
  2. Process the Salsa: Add the quartered tomatoes, halved jalapeños, garlic cloves, packed cilantro, lime juice, salt, and diced onion into a food processor. Pulse or process for about 30 seconds until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Taste the salsa and check for seasoning. Adjust the salt, cilantro amount, or jalapeño quantity to your liking. Chill in the refrigerator before serving for best flavor.

Notes

  • For a milder salsa, remove jalapeño seeds and membranes before blending.
  • Fresh lime juice is preferable for the best flavor impact.
  • Adjust cilantro quantity based on preference as it significantly influences the flavor profile.
  • This salsa is best served chilled and can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
