For the Meat Sauce:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
For the Cheese Mixture:
- 1 can (15 oz) ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Additional Ingredients:
- 9 uncooked lasagna noodles (regular, not oven-ready)
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Cook the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute, then drain excess grease. Stir in marinara sauce, season, and set aside.
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan.
- Assemble the Lasagna: Spray slow cooker, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and repeat. Cook on low for 4–5 hours.
- Finish and Serve: Let stand before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can add spinach or sautéed mushrooms for extra veggies.
- Use cottage cheese in place of ricotta if preferred.
