Description

This Chicken Spaghetti with Burrata and Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce is a creamy, flavorful pasta dish that combines tender chicken strips sautéed to perfection with a vibrant lemon butter garlic sauce. Tossed with al dente spaghetti and topped with creamy burrata cheese and fresh herbs, it’s an easy and elegant meal perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pasta and Chicken

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Sauce and Toppings

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water
  • 8 oz burrata cheese (2 small balls or torn into pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook the Spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water before draining and set the pasta aside.
  2. Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken strips with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then sauté the chicken for 6–7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
  3. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes, if using, to infuse bright and spicy flavors into the sauce.
  4. Toss Pasta with Sauce: Add the cooked spaghetti back into the skillet along with the reserved pasta water and grated Parmesan cheese. Toss everything together to coat the pasta evenly with the lemon butter garlic sauce.
  5. Combine Chicken and Pasta: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and gently mix it with the pasta and sauce until well combined and heated through.
  6. Serve with Burrata and Herbs: Just before serving, top the dish with torn pieces of burrata cheese and sprinkle with chopped fresh basil or parsley. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Add burrata just before serving to maintain its creamy texture.
  • For extra flavor, splash white wine into the sauce or top with toasted pine nuts.
  • This dish pairs well with a side of arugula salad or garlic bread.
