Fudge Base
- 2 cups white chocolate (chopped or chips)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
- 1/2 cup dried cherries (roughly chopped)
- 1/2 cup maraschino cherries (halved and drained)
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, allowing some overhang for easy removal of the fudge once set.
- Melt the White Chocolate: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white chocolate and sweetened condensed milk. Stir frequently until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Flavorings: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract until evenly incorporated.
- Mix in Cherries and Chocolate Chips: Fold the chopped dried cherries, halved maraschino cherries, and semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips into the fudge mixture, ensuring even distribution.
- Pour and Chill: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Slice and Serve: Use the parchment or foil overhang to lift the fudge from the pan. Cut into 16 squares and serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- For best results, use good-quality white chocolate chips or bars.
- If you prefer a less sweet fudge, reduce the amount of chocolate chips added.
- Store fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Allow fudge to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving for a softer texture.
