Description

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup hot water or hot coffee (optional, for richer flavor)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, black cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add Wet Ingredients: Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and sour cream.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Stir until just combined.
  6. Optional Ingredients: Mix in hot water or coffee and fold in mini chocolate chips.
  7. Bake: Pour batter into pan and bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve: Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
