Bread:
- 4 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
Avocado Mash:
- 1 ripe avocado (mashed)
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch of salt and black pepper
Cheese and Butter:
- 4 slices cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
Optional Add-Ins:
- Sliced tomato
- Baby spinach
- Crispy bacon
Instructions
- Prepare Avocado Mash: In a small bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Spread the avocado mixture on the unbuttered side of two slices. Top with cheese and any optional add-ins. Place remaining bread slices on top, buttered side facing out.
- Cook: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted. Slice and serve warm.
