Bread:

  • 4 slices sourdough or whole grain bread

Avocado Mash:

  • 1 ripe avocado (mashed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Cheese and Butter:

  • 4 slices cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Avocado Mash: In a small bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  2. Assemble Sandwiches: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Spread the avocado mixture on the unbuttered side of two slices. Top with cheese and any optional add-ins. Place remaining bread slices on top, buttered side facing out.
  3. Cook: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted. Slice and serve warm.
